The the music of Ave Maria here is of my own composition, one I wrote several years ago and have always wanted to record. Again, this is a matter of hearing familiar things in an unfamiliar setting.

The line Ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis (“Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death”) reminds me of our constant urge we have to connect with the divine.

The chord structure of the piece is a series of sequences, repeating over and over at different points, like the supplicant repeats the prayer over and over.
