In this arrangement of "O Come Emmanuel" I wanted to emphasize the Romantic period heritage that gave life to this plainchant when it was first married with the lyrics we have come to associate with it.

Both words and melody were created independently at least six centuries ago. Their union into this hymn nearly two centuries ago created something entirely new.
